Quote the whole working movement
Start with road miles to pickup, the loaded movement and the likely position after delivery. Add appointment and unloading time before deciding whether an offered rate fits your operation. A high loaded-mile figure can hide expensive deadhead or a delivery that prevents taking the next load.
Do not let a body-size label choose the load
Confirm usable payload, actual interior and door dimensions, loading method and receiver access. If the shipment needs a liftgate or another handling arrangement, confirm it explicitly; a box-truck label alone does not promise that equipment. Decline freight that needs an unsupported equipment or service type.
Protect the evidence behind the completed trip
Keep pickup details, changes, direct messages and delivery documents attached to the right shipment. Report a discrepancy with the other party and through the applicable review process rather than assuming an uploaded POD automatically establishes approval or bank receipt. Review net proceeds before committing the truck.
Choose the equipment guide that matches your business
For box truck loads, verify the actual door opening, usable payload and unloading equipment rather than relying on nominal body length. For dry van loads, confirm that the complete tractor–53-foot-trailer combination is ready and compatible with the dock. Your truck's operating limits should decide the eligible freight, not a search term.
BoxDirect supports enclosed box/straight trucks in its active 16-, 20-, 24- and 26-foot categories, plus 53-foot dry vans. This does not mean every straight-truck body or service is supported. Confirm the assigned vehicle's dimensions, payload and loading equipment; a size label alone does not establish suitability.
Finding direct shippers starts with a workable shipment
Review posted freight with clear facilities, cargo and time windows, then use the supported eligible-carrier workflow to book or submit an offer. Direct shipper communication can resolve a receiving instruction or readiness question, but a pending offer is not an assigned trip and a conversation does not change the applicable payment terms.
A load board for owner operators is useful when it exposes a candidate you can evaluate. It is not proof that a load is profitable after deadhead, unloading, platform fees and the next reposition. Keep enough room in the plan for an independently assessed safe and legal trip.
Protect the next appointment without assuming the next load
Know when the receiver can finish unloading and where a realistic next pickup could be before making a second commitment. Use state planning guides to check corridors and official restrictions. Do not assume local, regional or longer freight exists on the needed date just because the route appears in an editorial guide.
Read verification, tracking and payment as separate tools
Carrier verification refers to BoxDirect's business, insurance and identity-document review and eligibility workflow. It does not guarantee safety, performance, available capacity or coverage for a particular loss. Independent carriers perform transportation; this page does not classify BoxDirect as a motor carrier, freight broker, insurance provider or guarantor.
Available tracking and ETA support shipment coordination; they do not promise arrival, route legality or remaining driving time. Delivery evidence supports review, not automatic settlement.
For new bookings, BoxDirect's 10% platform fee is included in the agreed freight amount and deducted before the carrier payout, not added on top of the shipper's booked price. A $1,000 freight booking allocates $100 to the platform and $900 to the carrier before other applicable deductions. Historical bookings retain their agreed totals.
Shipper payment, delivery approval, administrator payout review and bank settlement are separate steps. Delivery approval does not automatically release money. Reported problems require administrative resolution, and bank processing times vary.
Account registration & freight pricing
Account registration costs $0 USD. Freight rates vary by load, and displayed transportation and payment terms apply. The $0 offer is for account creation only; it does not mean free transportation or no platform fees.

Frequently asked questions
Does BoxDirect guarantee owner-operators a daily load?
No. Listings, lane fit and eligibility vary. Check actual freight and the complete operating cost before deciding whether to book or make an offer.
Can I make an offer instead of accepting the posted rate?
Eligible carriers can book or submit an offer through the supported load workflow. An offer is a proposal, not a guarantee that the load has been assigned.
Is the agreed freight price the amount deposited into my bank?
For new bookings, BoxDirect's 10% platform fee is included in the agreed freight amount and deducted before the carrier payout, not added on top of the shipper's booked price. A $1,000 freight booking allocates $100 to the platform and $900 to the carrier before other applicable deductions. Historical bookings retain their agreed totals. Shipper payment, delivery approval, administrator payout review and bank settlement are separate steps. Delivery approval does not automatically release money. Reported problems require administrative resolution, and bank processing times vary.
Can I find box truck and dry van owner-operator freight here?
Both supported equipment families can be evaluated through actual listings. Confirm your active truck category, payload, complete combination where relevant and eligibility for each shipment. No load availability is guaranteed.
Will direct freight guarantee a higher profit?
No. Compare net proceeds with all operating miles, waiting, unloading and next-position costs. A direct shipper connection is an operating model, not a promise of a better rate or income.
