How to use freight shipment tracking and available ETA

Follow shipment status and available driver-location updates after assignment and pickup. BoxDirect uses tracking and delivery records to support visibility while preserving a clear distinction between an observed update, an estimate and a guaranteed arrival.

Last updated:

Read a progress update without overstating it

Use the available observation to decide what to confirm next, not to manufacture certainty. Tracking can be interrupted and an ETA can change; an earlier location must not be described as a fresh continuous observation.

  • Confirm the correct load and its actual shipment state before interpreting a location.
  • Check when the available observation was recorded and whether a later update exists.
  • If progress is unclear or an appointment may be affected, communicate with the authorized shipment party.
  • Use the available ETA to prepare receiving; do not treat it as a guaranteed slot, clearance check or remaining-hours calculation.
  • At arrival, separately confirm unloading and delivery evidence before reviewing completion.

Read a location update in its shipment context

Use the load's status and available tracking information to understand progress. Check the timing and context of an update before relying on it; an earlier observation is not proof of the truck's current position. Missing or interrupted updates should not be represented as continuous visibility.

Use ETA to prepare the receiver, not certify the route

An available ETA can help the parties coordinate a receiving window. It does not establish truck-legal navigation, bridge clearance, safe driving conditions or the driver's available legal hours. Confirm operational constraints separately and communicate changes when the trip is disrupted.

Close the visibility loop with delivery evidence

Arrival near the destination is not the same as completed unloading or approved delivery. Review the shipment's delivery documents and any reported discrepancy. Tracking supports the conversation; it does not automatically approve POD, authorize payout or settle a cargo issue.

Account registration & freight pricing

Account registration costs $0 USD. Freight rates vary by load, and displayed transportation and payment terms apply. The $0 offer is for account creation only; it does not mean free transportation or no platform fees.

Frequently asked questions

Is the displayed ETA a delivery guarantee?

No. It is available shipment information for coordination, subject to actual trip conditions and updates. Confirm appointments and communicate exceptions directly.

Does tracking certify a legal truck route?

No. Check road restrictions, clearances, permits and safe operating requirements independently. Location and ETA are not a truck-route compliance service.

Does arriving at the destination automatically complete payment?

No. Delivery evidence and review are separate from location. Administrator payout review and bank settlement remain separate steps.
